Pork & Cider Casserole

Another easy slow cooker meal, using diced pork shoulder which is good value for money. The cider & wholegrain mustard together make a delicious, tangy sauce! Serve with crusty bread or mashed potato.

 

Serves 4 Approx 83p per serving

 

Prep time 10 minutes Cooking time 8 hours on low setting.

Ingredients

400g diced pork shoulder

1 onion, chopped

3 medium carrots, chopped

3 sticks celery, chopped

250ml dry cider

50ml water

1 tbsp wholegrain mustard (or whatever you have-remember English mustard is stronger!)

salt & pepper

 

2 tbsp plain flour

Put the pork into a bowl with the flour, salt & pepper. Toss to coat the pork.

Place the veg into the slow cooker dish then add the seasoned pork.

 

Pour in the cider, water & mustard & stir well.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Put on the lid & set the timer for 8 hours on the low setting.

 

Serve with mash or crusty bread.
