pear & syrup pudding

A lovely fluffy sponge with delicate pears & sticky syrup. Nothing more to be said really except...enjoy!!

 

Serves 4 Approx 44p per person

Ingredients

1 tin pear halves in juice, drained

150g unsalted butter, softened

150g caster sugar

150g self raising flour

3 eggs

3 tbsp milk

 

2 tbsp golden syrup

 

 

 

 

 

Pre-heat the oven 170Fan/190C/Gas5

Generously grease the bottom of an ovenproof dish with butter.

Place the pear halves on some kitchen paper & pat dry.

Put the pear halves flat side down in the bottom of the dish.

 

Drizzle the golden syrup over the pears.

In a mixing bowl beat together the butter & sugar, then beat in the eggs, one at a time.

Stir in the flour & milk & mix thoroughly.

 

Pour the mixture over the pears & spread out to cover.

Place in the oven for 25-30 minutes until golden on top.

 

Serve warm with cream, custard or ice cream.
