Chinese Pork Steaks with Spring Onion Noodles

Pork steaks are great value for money & take only minutes to cook so it's definitely worth the time it takes to marinade them! Served with tasty, spring onion laced noodles the recipe is easily doubled for a new family favourite!

Ingredients

  • 2 pork steaks
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp ginger
  • 1 tsp garlic powder or 2 crushed cloves of garlic
  • black pepper
  • ½ a bunch of spring onions, chopped
  • 2 nests of dried egg noodles

In a large jug mix together the oil, soy sauce, ginger, garlic & a good grind of black pepper.

Put the pork steaks into a shallow dish & prick all over with a skewer or fork.

Pour the marinade over the steaks, cover with cling film & place in the fridge for about 3 hours.

Cook the noodles in a large pan of boiling, salted water for about 3-4 minutes. Drain & set aside.

 

 

To cook the steaks place a large frying pan over medium heat. Remove the steaks from the dish with tongs & carefully place in the pan. Keep the remaining marinade. Cook the pork steaks for about 4 minutes on each side. Set aside on a warmed plate.

To cook the noodles put the frying pan back on medium heat, add the remaining marinade & ½ tbsp oil. Cook the spring onions until starting to soften then add the noodles. Toss well to get them coated & mixed with the spring onions.

 

 

 

 

 

Slice the pork steaks & serve on top of the noodles garnished with a few extra spring onions.
