So, I was finally home- hoo flippin ray! At last a decent cuppa, which is exactly what I wanted when I got through the door (Yorkshire Tea- I love you!)
Now what though...? I was still recovering & getting used to my new"attachments" so I needed to take it easy, which meant no work for the foreseeable future &...no cooking.🥺
WARNING! Contains descriptions of medical procedures & pics of my manky arm & minging hospital food, plus it's loooong!
Hey everyone- yes I know, long time no see!
Now buckle up buttercup, this is long one (maybe grab a drink & a snack too). Soooo where was I? Ah yes that's it.
In my last post around this time last year I had just got a date for my surgery (nowt serious, just some "lady stuff") & I was making big plans for when I was up & about again. I had been so looking forward to being back to "normal" so imagine my disappointment when, by the Autumn, my life was about to take a drastic turn!
Yes, dear reader that woman is me....
So my last blog post was a biiiig catch up with you all, sorry if I waffled, I do it a lot so get used to it! 😉
Anyways up & down it is now May & where the heck are the months going?
It's been lovely & sunny today 🌞(apologies if I just jinxed it!) Our plants in the greenhouse are happy- I know because I asked them. There are clean sheets on the bed & there is a set drying in the sun as we speak. I've made a batch of Cauliflower & Broccoli Cheese which is now in the freezer- all is right with the world.
"Sarah- why oh why are you telling us all this?" I hear you ask. Well it's simple.
This time last year I was in a bad way physically & emotionally (see previous blog post) & all the usual day to day stuff went out of the window. Thank goodness for Mr W- how he managed to deal with it all...well just know that I am eternally grateful for that fella.❤
Ok, ok I know it's a bit late to talk about last year but bear with me! A lot has happened & excuse me but how is it April already?!!🤯
I've made a decision to use this blog section to share little bits & bobs of life with you all so buckle up because we've got some serious catching up to do!
Do you pass it by when you're doing your supermarket shop? You know the aisle I mean-the one with unusual & unfamiliar tins & packets. The kind of things that you could previously only find in Asian stores & supermarkets are now readily available where you do your weekly shop.
They often work out cheaper than even the supermarkets own too...
Take ground cumin for example.
A 43g pot of "own brand" is £1 but take a wander down the World Foods aisle & a 100g bag costs just 80p!! All you need is a screw top jar to keep it in & you're good to go!
These quick noodles are from Home Bargains & are a fab addition to your store cupboard! Not only that but they are a snip at 59p a pack! There are two individually wrapped servings in each pack, just open & tip into a colander & rinse with hot water to separate them then they are ready to use!
I tried some last night in my Broccoli & Mushroom Stir Fry & they worked a treat!
