Mrs Winkle discovers Tik Tok shopping, gets new tubes & has major broadband issues!

Ah the internet....what would we do without it?!! Panic & swear a lot that what! Well that's what I did this morning when I got up & realised that Alexa was ignoring me

( she's so rude sometimes-"sorry I didn't quite catch that"-pffft!) It turns out that our area has suffered a major broadband outage so obviously everything grinds to a halt, bad for businesses, homes, everything.

Fortunately I have the kind of husband that is prepared for anything- like those prepper folks but not completely bonkers. So I'm in the kitchen making our morning smoothie in silence (I know I could sing but nobody wants that including me!) & comes downstairs with a radio....yep, a good, reliable old fashioned radio! Now I can start my day properly...

So here I am typing this, chugging my aforementioned smoothie (Strawberry in case you were wondering!) looking back on my week & trying to think of ways to make it sound more interesting....! Normally I would write it out by hand first but today I'm being spontaneous, a renegade, a rebel without a clue & just going for it. This will either work or it won't, I'll let you decide.

Probably the most exciting thing to happen this week was....go on...have a guess....yep it was a trip to hospital! Oh lucky me! To be fair it was the first for a while so I shouldn't complain really (although I will).

Every three months my tubes have to be changed & I get admitted as a day case. It's always an 8am admission so I'm up at stupid o'clock & still half asleep by the time I get there! Then it's the usual blood pressure check-

Nurse: Oh it's a little high Sarah.

Me: Really? Probably because I'm in hospital!

Not that they don't look after me well, because they do it's just that feeling of dread as soon as I walk through the door! After repeating my name, date of birth etc about 50 million times it's action stations & I'm off down to X-ray for "The changing of the tubes" a bit like the changing of the guard...but not really..

That procedure literally takes about 10-15 minutes, I spend more time getting gowned up & trying remember my own name!

Back up to what is now called the "Day Case Unit" it's brand new & very shiny & bright. After half an hour which included tea & toast (much needed as my stomach growled VERY loudly while I was having my thing done!) & one last blood pressure check (back to normal now) I could go home.

I took a little detour to the bakery downstairs first- they do amazing pasties & Mr W had put his order in. I was home by lunchtime for another cup of tea & a couple of paracetamol! It's usually a bit sore & achy after so I didn't have much planned for the rest of the day...

One thing I have discovered now I have more time on my hands is Tik Tok. I joined last year with intentions of doing weekly videos of recipes, new ingredients I had found or gadgets I'd tried. Well, obviously that didn't work out as planned but then I discovered...Tik Tok Shop....

Now, in my defence I've only bought two things & both are to make things a bit easier for me in the kitchen. One for chopping & one for grating- they are quite good, especially the chopper thingy so I'm pretty pleased with my purchases! There's a ton of stuff in my saved bit, so much that I can't remember most of it so I'm going to have to check it at some point!

Give thanks & praise to the Tinterwebs Gods- it's back on! As I've been typing the little green light has come back on like a beacon of hope, which means I can actually upload this today-Hurrah!!

I think that's about it for this week- better go my bread machine is beeping at me & it smells so good! Maybe we can chat about that next week...😋

Have a smashing week lovelies!🥰
