Store Cupboard Crumble

This is a lovely quick & easy dessert which, yet again, puts your store cupboard to good use! Tinned fruit is very underrated in my opinion & keeping a few tins comes in very handy for times when you need an emergency pud!

I have used pears & peaches but you can use whatever tinned fruit you prefer.

Serves 6 Approx 28p per serving

Prep time 10 minutes Cooking time 40 minutes

Ingredients

1 tin each of Pears & Peaches in juice (or your own combination!)

100g plain flour

75g unsalted butter, cubed

100g granulated sugar, plus 1tbsp extra

1 tsp ground ginger (optional)

Pre-heat the oven to 200C/Fan 180/Gas 6.

Drain the fruit & set aside.

Place the flour & butter into a food processor & blitz until you have a breadcrumb like consistency then stir in the sugar. Alternatively you can use the rubbing in method with your hands.

Butter an ovenproof dish & lay the fruit on the bottom. Sprinkle the extra tbsp of sugar over the fruit along with the ground ginger (if using).

Top the fruit with the crumble mix making sure it's evenly spread.

Place in the oven for 40 minutes until golden & bubbling. The fruit will bubble up over the top but don't worry this just makes it more yummy!

Serve warm with cream or custard.
